Job Description An insurance industry leader needs an Agile Program Manager to join their team. This is a hybrid position; qualified applicants must reside within reasonable commuting distance of Hartford and be willing and able to work onsite 2-3 days per week. This is a combo role of Hands-on Project Management and Agile Coaching/Mentoring of Teams.

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Requirements of the Agile Program Manager:
  • 10+ years in program management including large complex transformational programs
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as knowledge and experience of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project
  • Experience in leading IT project teams that contain vendors, on-shore/offshore Developers, Business Analysts, Architects, Data Analysts, QA, etc.
  • A proven track record of successfully implementing projects using Agile methodologies.
  • Agile Certifications required (e.g. PMI-ACP, SAFe, CSM, etc.)
  • PMP Certifications strongly desired (e.g.: PgMP, PMP, etc.)
  • P&C Insurance experience desired
  • Agile Project Management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira/Greenhopper, Rally, etc.
  • Planview, Clarity or like PPM tool
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Powerpoint, Excel
  • Proactive, takes initiative, accountable, self-motivate
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, including meeting facilitation and presentation skills
  • Collaborator and team player, with the ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Ability to work & think independently, and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to share knowledge at different levels, be hands-on with the team as required
