Overview

The Emergency Nursing Services Technician performs a variety of supportive technical, clinical, and clerical tasks under the supervision of licensed nursing staff and as directed by the Charge Nurse or Nursing Department Director.

If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Responsibilities
    Performs a variety of supportive technical and clinical task, as listed on the attached competency checklist.
  1. Follows established hospital standards and procedures when performing technical or clinical tasks.
  2. Manages time effectively and prioritizes work to be accomplished.
  3. Recognizes pertinent changes in patient condition (e.g. changes in values/measurements, changes in patient status, parent concerns, etc.) and communicates them to the supervising licensed nurse, charge nurse, or medical care provider.
  4. Records observations and patient care interventions accurately within the electronic health record (EHR) and/or on appropriate forms.
  5. Works effectively with other departments (e.g. Lab, Social Work, Radiology, etc.).

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent / On-the-Job Training
  • Previous experience in a patient care role is preferred
  • Good communication skills
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and good time management skills
  • Strong desire to care for pediatric patients and families
  • Must be available to work 12 hour shifts
  • Excellent attendance during the program is critical to success
  • Basic Life Support certification Required Upon Hire ( will be offered as part of the training)
Starting Pay

The pay range for this job begins at $17.77/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
