Job Summary:
As the Walsworth Benefits Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k)/pension plans. This salaried, exempt role is 100% in-office, based out of our Marceline, Missouri corporate office. The schedule for this position is 8 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. The Benefits Analyst reports to the Corporate Human Resources Team Leader. There are no direct reports under the Benefits Analyst role.
Essential Functions:
- Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
- Assists with new-hire orientations.
- Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
- Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
- Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
- Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes.
- Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
- Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
- Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
- Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts. Manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment.
- Assists with the open enrollment process.
- Administers the tuition reimbursement program.
- Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
- Demonstrated advanced proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Ability to remain organized and self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to interface with a variety of individuals or groups on a frequent basis.
- Ability to work with limited direction and supervision, while demonstrating good judgment and strict confidence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong customer service skills.
- Must communicate appropriate information accurately and clearly as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in a related field and a minimum of two years experience in benefits administration or a related function OR
- Associate degree and four years experience in benefits administration or a related function OR
- High School Diploma and six years experience in benefits administration or a related function
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
