SENIOR BUYER - ELECTRONICS
SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN - WORLD HEADQUARTERS

As a member of the E-Systems purchasing team, the Senior Buyer of Electronics manages all sourcing and supply chain activities for active components and Printed Circuit Boards and for North America; develop a sourcing strategy, continuously optimize cost, improve supplier performance, drive innovation and manage risk. This includes the development, contracting and management of a supplier's portfolio enabling early supplier involvement by working closely with the Global Commodity Manager, Engineering, Quality and Operations.

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Deliver Total Landed Cost Improvements while pursuing specific targets
  • Support and execute global sourcing strategies and contracts
  • Ensure coordination of purchasing initiatives with all regions
  • Build and maintain relationships, both internal and with suppliers, which enhance our ability to deliver savings
  • Support operational targets and inventory management actions

Your Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in related field
  • Technical understanding of PCBs and Electronics
  • Understanding of purchasing commodity management
  • Ability to close out open issues in a timely fashion
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong negotiation capabilities
  • Supplier relationship management
  • Ability to collaborate with leaders across many functions and regions
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Sales and Program Management
