  • Reporting to the Reliability Superintendent, thispositionisresponsible for initiatives and improvement of refinery electrical/instrumentation systems.

Key activities include:

  • Responsibility for a variety of projects and assignments including maintenance and upgrading of refinery electrical/instrument systems
  • Provide specifications and installation guidelines for electrical/instrument systems
  • Provide technical leadership to others in the field of electrical/instrument
  • Conduct troubleshooting of refinery-wide electrical systems
  • Use computer-assisted software (ETAP- Electrical Transient Analyzer Program) to complete electrical infrastructure analysis
  • Provide support and quality assurance for ongoing projects
  • Coordinate plant efforts in reviewing breakdowns and failures with the intention of eliminating root causes of the failures, increasing the on-stream plan reliability and reducing costs
  • Keep current with the latest technical innovations in electrical engineering
  • Assist in continuous improvement process by identifying new information electrical/instrumentation that enhance profitability and reliability
  • Assist with P&ID development and updating (as-built P&IDs) to reflect field changes
  • Provide technical support to the maintenance department, including supervision of electrical checks prior to system commissioning
  • Develop and maintain standardized specifications for electrical selection and installation
  • Provide primary review of vendor/contractor electrical design to ensure compliance with refinery specifications and applicable safety codes

The Requirements

Qualifications for this role:

  • Bachelor's degree inEngineeringrequired,Electrical Engineeringpreferred
  • Two or more years of electrical engineering experiencepreferred
  • Mustpossessa valid U.S. Driver's License with acceptable Driver's Abstract
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlookrequired
  • Working knowledge inETAP (ElectricalTransientAnalyzerProgram)preferred, on the job trainingavailable
  • Knowledge in SAP work orders and system notifications desired
  • Must be available to work during off-hours, especially for emergencies andturnarounds
  • Candidates with greater qualificationsmay be considered for ahigher levelposition

Hiring Range:

The hiring range for this position is $110,000 to $142,000, plus non-discretionary bonus.The candidate selected will be placed according to his/her skills and qualifications.
