POSITION SUMMARY: Stoughton High School seeks a dynamic, growth-oriented, collaborative individual to serve as our school's principal and lead learner. We are searching for a candidate with a student-centered philosophy who is ready to lead a school of approximately 860 students and over 100 staff to a thriving and bright future. Our new principal will be a systems thinker and leader, prepared to work closely with teacher teams, families, and students to prepare for lives of options within a diverse public environment. Decisions our leader makes each day will be grounded in an equity imperative, which means that each child receives what they need to develop to their full academic and social potential. This leader will proactively lead the development of professional learning communities designed to enact equitable outcomes for all students, Our leader will be prepared to develop and refine our Multi-level Systems of Supports (MLSS), ensuring an integrated and restorative approach to behavioral, social, emotional, and academic support, which includes all educators and all learners. She/He will address matters of race, equity and bias in how decisions are made with clarity, confidence, humility, historical context, and empathy, while recognizing power dynamics that exist within the organization at all levels and eliminate inequities through honest conversations and purposeful actions. This person will value the strengths of our stellar, experienced staff with strong commitments to our Stoughton High School community, as well as provide visionary leadership for the continuous improvements we always seek. Our desired candidate will bring our staff members to their highest levels of contribution and will offer clear, descriptive and ongoing feedback to advance their practice. She/He will value collaborative input, while also being decisive and purposeful in their actions. Most importantly, they will delight in all of the joys that life at Stoughton High School can bring!
