JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Paid Social Media Strategist role will support the Digital Marketing Team to develop and implement high-profile strategic external initiatives to increase brand awareness, brand affinity, move consumers down the funnel, improve conversions and bolster the reputation of Delta Dental of California. The position will work cross-functionally throughout the organization to create compelling campaigns and strategically focused content to effectively reach and engage key external stakeholder audiences.

What we're looking for: A skilled and passionate paid social performance marketing expert to join our rapidly growing Social Media team, a key driver of the success of our broader Digital Marketing team.

The Senior Paid Social Media Strategist, Individual Segments (D2C), directly supports the Segment Marketing team fulfilling media buying, analysis, optimization, reporting, and management of tactical paid social media campaigns for various product lines and initiatives. You will proactively provide internal client-facing recommendations, ensure campaigns are meeting/exceeding goals, and continually analyze campaigns to boost performance.

Additionally, you will play a key role in providing and presenting data to Segment Marketing team members and leadership, and internal department stakeholders to ensure strategic direction and goals are achieved and reflected in tactical paid social strategy recommendations.

You may also be responsible for independently managing campaign performance and are also expected to maintain a high-level knowledge of your partners' line of business by staying on top of industry trends.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sets up and manages upper to lower funnel campaigns across paid social platforms including but not limited to Meta, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Twitter, etc., with a clear understanding of account structure, ad creation, budget management, reporting requirements, client sector and industry considerations, landing pages and tracking requirements.
  • Oversees daily, weekly and monthly spend in-line with targets and budgets.
  • Owns new testing and optimization ideas to drive campaign performance.
  • Creates and manages testing timelines.
  • Develops marketing strategies relating to paid social, creating clear plans to achieve business goals and proactively identifies new opportunities/solutions that align with an internal client's goals.
  • Possesses comprehensive expertise in paid social strategy, including an understanding of full-funnel dynamics, platform selection based on specific objectives, attribution methods, measurement techniques, conversion tracking, creative execution, and more.
  • Communicates strategy, performance, and campaign recommendations externally and internally. Brings prior experience in client communication, adept in engaging with internal clients through email or phone, and has participated in presentations.
  • Displays a strong understanding of performance digital marketing metrics for clients with the ability to analyze performance, identify areas for improvement, and justify campaign decisions to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Works cross-functionally with Brand and Creative team and advises on best practices. Works cross-functionally with SEM marketing team to leverage and optimize campaign performance across tactics and shared learnings.
  • Supports community management on a shifting rotation on a team of three social media managers.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ w/Bachelor's degree
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising, or related field of study preferred, not required. 6+ years of paid social advertising experience (Meta/LinkedIn is a must), building high-performing ad copy and campaign strategies to drive quantifiable results. 6+ years of agency experience preferred, but not required. Experience working in a media planning and/or buying capacity for an agency or brand.
  • Influencer marketing experience preferred, not required.
  • Strong understanding of advertising and marketing principles, particularly for online audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Expertise in conceiving, testing, and optimizing ad strategy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to be proactive.
  • Ability to think critically.
  • A passion for growing businesses.
  • Experience with Adobe Analytics, GA4, and Tableau or similar reporting software a plus.
  • Proven success in establishing, building, and maintaining relationships with clients, internal or external.
  • Familiar with the principles of marketing and advertising, media concepts and terms, creative, and budget requirements.

Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. $70,000 - $146,600
