Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for an Assistant Controller to join our team! This position will support the San Antonio region. This will be a hybrid/remote role.

What does the Assistant Controller do? (but not limited to)

Prepares, processes and maintains activity as assigned for preparation of monthly financial statements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.



Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implements financial policies and procedures as determined by up-line management for areas including, but not necessarily limited to, general ledger, financial statements, workpapers and supporting documentation, and accounts receivable.
  • Prepares and supports journal entries for all non-system entries.
  • Participates in the completion of the Month End Close Checklist for all assigned action items to insure that the state meets all corporate timelines.
  • Maintains appropriate internal control safeguards over accounting functions.
  • Provides support to department managers, administration and physicians in the preparation, understanding and use of financial information.
  • Prepares the monthly reporting package and draft of the Management Discussion & Analysis document.
  • Analyzes all financial results and summarizes findings with recommendations when appropriate.
  • Reviews payroll data and other analysis prepared by staff.
  • Performs EOB analysis as requested.
  • Reconciles all bank and inter-company accounts.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum five years of experience in fiscal management.
  • Three years public accounting experience preferred.
  • Healthcare experience preferred. CPA preferred.
