Job Title: Head Men's Hockey Equipment Manager

FLSA Status: Non- Exempt

Department: Athletics

Title of Manager/Supervisor: Director of Athletics

Number of Employees Reporting to this Position: 0

Range: $15.00- $17.90 based on experience

Position Summary: This position will take care of all equipment needs for the hockey programs. The Head Men's Hockey Equipment Manager reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for assisting in planning and coordinating all aspects of the athletic equipment operation, including but not limited to effective maintenance and repair, procurement, budgeting and supervision. The incumbent is also in charge of ordering and inventorying equipment and apparel. This is a 10-month position.

General Purpose: The Head Men's Hockey Equipment Manager supervises, coordinates, and participates in all activities related to the purchasing, storing, issuing, fitting and repairing of athletic equipment, clothing for the University Hockey team.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate purchase orders with Cheel Manager
  • Order all players equipment/inventory
  • Ordering sticks/soft goods inventory
  • Keep and maintain accurate inventories for men's team
  • Daily practice set-up
  • Launder athletic clothing and items as required
  • General cleanliness of locker rooms and common area's
  • Confirm ice times for all away games/arrival times
  • Confirm visiting team ice times at Cheel
  • Collect all receipts and return to Cheel Manager for all away games
  • Skate sharpening and profiling
  • Skate repair
  • Sewing
  • Equipment repair and modifications
  • Organize and monitor video breakdown and tape exchange
  • Handle away ticket lists/confirm away meals
  • Travel required (8-10 weekends per season)
  • Other duties assigned by Head Coach/Associate Athletic Director
  • Performance of above duties require you to be at work on Campus

Education:

Minimal Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

Minimal Qualifications: Have a valid drivers license

Preferred Qualifications: 3 years of experience sharpening skates. Knowledge of hockey equipment standards within preview of NCAA rules and regulations
