The Opportunity: We are seeking a Jr Auditor to join our team. Under immediate supervision, this position will perform audits of light to medium complexity. Evaluate the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of the systems of control and the quality of ongoing operations within the credit union.

What You'll Do:

  • Document narratives or flow chart diagrams to describe credit union processes or functions.
  • Following a developed audit program, analyze operating and accounting systems and document degree of compliance for key processes and controls.
  • Prepare documentation of activities related to audits performed using automated workpaper systems.
  • Evaluate the adequacy, efficiency and effectiveness of controls reviewed.
  • Verify financial information.
  • Prepare draft reports to present audit findings and proposed remediation.
  • Participate in the presentation of audit results to department management.
  • Provide Internal Audit management with timely notice of administrative and audit related problems.
  • Investigate member complaints and inquiries regarding accounts with the credit union.
  • Facilitate annual site visits by credit union regulators, CPA audit firms and other external auditors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Associate degree or higher (accounting or finance preferred), or equivalent financial institution job experience.
  • Demonstrated analytical, math and problem-solving skills.
  • Consistent positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous and professional attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including effective verbal and written communication.
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
