Summary/Objective:

An ideal set of duties for the PM role within the ITOps/oCIO org would consist of leading and overseeing Project Teams and assisting the other Project Managers in defining and executing processes related to all phases of project execution and Agile methodology.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Leading through example, always exhibit the core values and leadership qualities.
  2. Project Manager is directly aligned with their Technical Director and coordinates all resources assigned to that Program. To include the following: What Projects are created
  3. What Project Coordinators are assigned to Projects
  4. Demand Creation
  5. Provide Leadership and be a resource to the Project Coordinators.
  6. Assist Coordinators and their Technical Leads as needed with defining and managing team goals and project schedules.
  7. Assist Coordinators in evaluating potential problems, blockers, and new/changing information as they are brought forward and develop solutions.
  8. Oversee development of Coordinators.
  9. Foster cross functional team collaboration
  10. Lead recurring standups for PMO team within IOCIO across all disciplines (IE: Engineering, InfoSec, etc.)
  11. Monitor the scheduling and execution of Agile related meetings and processes (IE: standups, sprint planning, SCRUM)
  12. Continuously refine these processes to better support Agile Teams.
  13. Review in flight projects and help in keeping projects on schedule.
  14. Communicate project updates to senior leadership and or Stakeholders
  15. Own, with the Project Coordinator, Project Reports.
  16. Work with Project Coordinator and Program Director to provide identified Project reports desired by Management to include:
  17. Status Report as required.
  18. Review weekly reports to ensure that all Project elements are being entered into the Project and updated.
  19. Assist in the coordination of internal resources, adapting as needed.
  20. Enhance department reputation by accepting ownership over new and different cross functional demands and exploring opportunities to add value.

Working Conditions:

Qualifications:

  1. High school degree or GED Required
  2. Team Leadership experience.
  3. 3 to 5 years as a Project coordinator or Project Manager
  4. Communication proficiency, coaching, organizational skills, initiative, team player, decision making, time management, and thoroughness.
  5. Adopts Project Management Best Practices. The project manager, is responsible for defining, teaching, and enforcing the use of good project management practices.
  6. Manages Project priorities and Performs Risk Management. The project manager understands all projects being worked towards closure. The Project Manager is dedicated to addressing the project's top priorities.
  7. Communicates Project status to Stakeholders. Drives Decision-Making to lowest level possible. The Project Manager drives ownership of decisions and appropriate level of accountability. Promotes Stakeholder involvement. The Project Manager recognizes that project success is directly related to satisfying the Project Demand; therefore, Stakeholder involvement is essential to ensure that the right processes are followed.
  8. Encourages and supports escalations as appropriate. The Project Manager establishes a project culture where escalations to resolve various problems. Enforces effective change control. The Project Manager ensures that scope creep, communications, and quality are carefully controlled.
  9. Mentors Project Members. The project manager is a Servant Leader and demonstrates best practices of Project Management.
  10. Promotes good working relationships. The Project Manager serves as a role model in promoting good working relationships across a project.
  11. Makes Things Happen. You must be able to articulate problems, bring the right people together and facilitate the solution on those problems, know when the problem has been properly addressed and closed. All this with the proper sense of urgency that the problem requires.

This role does not have supervisory responsibility

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The Team Member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; weekend and overnight work is occasionally required.

Travel:

Travel will be moderate up to 25%. May require ON Site visits in support of Projects and in person Program Meeting as scheduled.

  1. IT related Degree - Desired Not required.

  4. Project Management within an IT environment - Desired Not required
