Job Summary

The Clinical Laboratory at Zuckerberg San Francisco General provides laboratory testing services for inpatients and outpatients at the Zuckerberg SFGH and Trauma Center, Laguna Honda Hospital and other health centers and facilities under the direction of the SF Public Health Department.

Under the supervision of the Finance Supervisor, the incumbent provides high level administrative support to the Clinical Lab - its Laboratory Director, Administrative Director, Procurement, and various other divisions within the Lab. Key responsibilities include reconciliation of GL data, procurement, researching/ resolving outstanding invoices and match exceptions, and data analyses. This position performs all duties in a manner that denotes the team concept and reflects the UCSF and ZSFG mission, vision and values.

Department Description

The UCSF Clinical Laboratory (CL) at Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG) provides laboratory testing services for inpatients and outpatients of ZSFG, Laguna Honda Hospital, District Health Centers and other facilities under the auspices of the San Francisco Public Health Department.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduation and four years of related administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Able to work independently, under pressure; recognize and resolve problems while maintaining a high level of organization.
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Strong skills in common organization-specific and other computer application programs, including Microsoft Excel (intermediate skill level), Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Proof of TB testing in the last year
  • Proof of Vaccination and booster for Covid-19

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of UC administrative process, policy and procedures
  • Prior experience in academia, UCSF, or any UC campus
  • Knowledge/experience with UCSF systems: BearBuy, PeopleSoft, MyAccess
  • Ability to work 8:00am - 5:00pm depending on the needs of the laboratory.
  • Familiarity of medical and/or laboratory terminology.
