Associate Product Manager - DaVita Digital Next: OneView

At DaVita, we're building an end-to-end kidney platform that connects care for individuals at every stage and setting along their health journey-from earlier diagnosis and prevention, through supporting the transplant process, to ensuring patients are supported at home, in our centers, and in the hospital.

Our digital product team is critical to enabling this kidney care platform, and our product team is growing! We have an opportunity for an Associate Product Manager, who will lead an agile scrum team in the delivery of features for our custom EHR product, OneView. Your primary activities will include writing user stories, managing your team's backlog, controlling feature scope, triaging bugs, and leading SAFe PI Planning sessions.

We are looking for someone who is eager to learn Product, has a bias towards action, can collaborate with cross-functional teams, and is obsessive about breaking down complex problems into solution requirements for their development teams.

The Role

  • As an Associate Product Manager, you will lead an agile scrum team in prioritizing features that advance our product strategy and vision
  • Partner closely with our research team to validate assumptions and problem statements with our users
  • Write requirements/stories that allow our UX and Engineering teams to design and test product solutions
  • Create solution prototypes and implement Beta and A/B tests to validate possible solutions that will advance your roadmap objectives
  • Recognize that the most effective way to understand your product's performance is to observe it in the field. You'll be expected to visit our users and directly observe your software in action and return to the office to share your observations and feedback
  • Prepare for and participate in PI Planning meetings as part of our SAFe processes
  • Fulfill a leadership role in the Scrum Team by providing clarification on user stories, objectives, and priorities while also motivating the team to GSD (Get Stuff Done)
  • Partner closely with our legal, compliance, security, and risk teams to ensure that we are delivering a product that meets all legal and compliance requirements
  • Our goal is to grow your product management career, so you'll be exposed to and mentored in skills like roadmap creation, analyzing user feedback, and making data driven feature decisions

Must-Haves

  • A bachelor's degree
  • 0-2 years of product experience in an agile environment, focused on digital products
  • Associate Product Managers may not come with direct product management experience, but they will walk in the door with business acumen, an insatiable curiosity, and a desire to lead
  • Possess exceptional problem-solving, organization, communication skills, and make it your mission to get things done despite roadblocks and challenges.
  • Inspire those around you to care about and understand the "why" behind a solution
  • Skilled in juggling multiple tasks, prioritizing them effectively, and delivering on tight deadlines.
  • An ability to thrive in an organization that changes quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to easily build expertise in unfamiliar domains
  • Strong relationship building skills and the ability to partner with technical, clinical, and senior business stakeholders to accomplish goals

Nice-To-Haves

  • Experience building health tech products
  • Experience writing requirements for user stories or software features, creating complex spreadsheets or presentations, working in health care, or working towards the delivery of web or mobile applications.
  • Industry experience can be an invaluable substitute for direct product management skills. Candidates that possess knowledge of nephrology practices, using electronic health care records systems, or providing care for renal patients will be strongly considered.
