SUMMARY:

Lays out, builds, tests, and modifies complex and specialized developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems. Discusses layout and assembly procedures and problems with engineers. Assembles experimental circuitry. Develops charts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate system's operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER:

Experience using semiconductor automatic test equipment (Eagle-Teradyne testers or equivalent) preferred

Experience using Wafer Probe equipment preferred

Experience using Oracle production flow preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Cooperates with engineers in the transition of electronic assemblies from development to production.
  • Assists in resolving technical problems and in the preparation of supporting documentation.
  • Discusses layout and assembly procedures and problems with engineers.
  • Draws sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units.
  • Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
  • Assembles experimental circuitry (breadboard) or complete prototype models in collaboration with engineers.
  • Writes technical reports and develops charts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate system's operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations.
  • Reviews and suggests improvements to engineers or engineer associates.
  • Sets up complex test apparatus, test equipment and/ or circuitry to conduct functional, operational and environmental tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production models
  • Uses oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and other testing devices.
  • Analyzes and interprets test data.
  • Completes test acceptance/ failure reports.
  • Checks functioning of newly installed test equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
  • Performs visual/ mechanical inspections of electronic assemblies to uncover problems.
  • Investigates and troubleshoots components that fail testing to determine the cause of the failure.
  • Completes reports on findings.
  • Adjusts, calibrates, and aligns production or prototype assemblies to obtain optimal performance in accordance with documented performance levels.
  • Calibrates testing equipment and performs minor repairs, such as soldering connections or changing transistors.
  • Provides technical guidance and assistance to lower level technicians.
  • Checks work in progress to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

INTERACTION WITH OTHERS:

Incumbent interacts frequently with different levels of management and others outside of the department to discuss and report test results of component performance and to resolve technical problems. Provides technical assistance and guidance to lower level technicians.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend standard operating procedures, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write authoritative and complex correspondence and reports. Ability to effectively present complex information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply algebraic formulas and compute rate, ratio, percent.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to interpret test results; make suggestions to improve the circuit design and layout/assembly procedures; and resolve complex and specialized technical problems. Ability to evaluate new test equipment.

Compensation and Benefits:

TTM offers a variety of health and well-being benefit programs. Benefits are available on the 1st of the month following date of hire. For some positions, only PTO and holiday benefits are offered.

Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TTM Technologies, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on each individual set of circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

$47,206 - $74,615

Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.

Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition ofForeign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
