TESCO Control's Core Business is Designing and Building Process Control Systems and Power Solutions for Municipalities and Industrial Clients to keep Critical Infrastructure operating efficiently.

We are looking for Network Engineers who are proficient in configuring and installing various network devices (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls). Performing network and hardware maintenance configurations.

Job Summary:

Primary responsibilities include ensuring the team succeeds in their programming production, while maintaining acceptable levels of project standards, quality of work, attitude, and positive interdepartmental and customer relations. Develop each employee's skill set toward more versatility in developing telemetry networks, project types, and business development. Verify all aspects of system functionality to meet required project specifications. Convey and enforce company policies and procedures within the department. Point of contact in absence of department Networking & Telemetry Manager.

Requirements

Essential Functions:

  • Assist Networking & Telemetry Manager in execution of his/her goals/direction for the department
  • Provide the first source of solutions for systems-related questions both within the team and from other departments
  • Evaluate the performance, programs, documentation and management of projects to ensure standardization and compliance with Tesco customer service
  • Be the primary backup for "double-booked" or unavailable team members or manager
  • Mentor team on Tesco process, project management, programming, and customer service and emphasize self-sufficiency and broad skill set
  • Train and increase team members' knowledge of various types of equipment and types of projects
  • Assist Manager with interviews, job assignments, timesheets, and schedules as needed
  • Help team members prioritize jobs
  • Point of contact for team member whereabouts
  • Provide secondary input on annual employee evaluations
  • Relay suggestions/complaints from team members to department manager while maintaining employee's anonymity
  • Help enforce company and departmental policies
  • Coordinate between departments for project standards
  • Adequately address production schedule questions or issues
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Education/ Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or similar field of study
  • At least 5 years of experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of networking principles for both TCP/IP and serial systems
  • Experience designing systems involving Vlans, STP, SNMP, SPI, RADIUS, IPSec, and SSL
  • Certification on industrial rated radio equipment
  • Experience with RF propagation modeling software
  • Strong knowledge of industrial telemetry protocols, such as Modbus TCP, Ethernet IP, and DNP3.0
  • Familiar with creating filters and analyzing statistics using Wireshark

Skills/ Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of current computer technology and networking fundamentals
  • Strong knowledge of HMI and PLC programming software packages from vendors such as Wonderware, Rockwell, Intellution, GE, Schneider, Iconics, Siemens, US Data, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal

Training Requirements:

  • Tesco Controls, Inc. basic safety training
  • Elevated work surface training
  • Valid California drivers license and a clean driving record required

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, and bend
  • Daily travel in the field is required

Work Environment:

  • Production and manufacturing shop environment
  • Office environment
  • Field environment at construction sites requiring safety equipment and safety training

Pay offered will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and geographic location. We may pay more or less than the range based on the person's qualifications. In good faith we believe the range is what we will pay for this role at the time of the posting and may change in the future. In addition, Tesco offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, vacation, holidays, and 100% 401K match of your contributions up to 4% of your earnings.
