The role we are offering you:

Reporting to the Group Leader, Technical Services, the IT Technologist (Electronic Information Environment (EIE) Engineer) will manage the local ANS MTP computer environment and support training operations. (The ANS system links students, instructors, training resources and course management capabilities and is supported by the MTP ISS staff). They will maintain computer hardware and software, including deployment, configuration, maintenance and monitoring of active network equipment. They will focus on the overall health of the network, server deployment IT security, ensuring network connectivity through the LAN infrastructure, and all other technical considerations at the network level. Are you ready to:

  • Be responsible for the first line support to users via the helpdesk phone line and/or the request logging application.
  • Direct and personalized support to users in accordance with requests.
  • Be part of an IT support team by contributing to the adherence and set-up of IT processes.
  • Monitor on daily basis through the reporting tools the progress status of the requests' resolution.
  • Be responsible for the validation of the security updates.
  • Build, configure, and deploy computers in accordance to users' needs
  • Provide second line support as required. * Work with application owners to ensure proper operation and adequate performances of the environment.
  • Modify whenever required the specific procedures related to IT operations.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • In depth knowledge of Cyber-security and Anti-virus Software
  • Management of IT Project assets
  • Excellent communication skills required while interacting with customer
  • Other duties as required in support of the full operation of the C130J maintenance training facility.
  • Be available to work shift work, when required
  • Be able to work at other sites in Canada on a short-term basis, if required
  • Be able to obtain and hold a Canadian Secret Security Clearance
