Responsibilities

  • Provides pastoral care in emergency situations to patients, families, and employees of UT Health East Texas.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients', families', and staff's spiritual needs.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span with the ability to assess data reflective of each individual's status and respond appropriately to the age specific needs.
  • Applies the services of the department so as to meet the spiritual and emotional needs of all patients, families, and/or employees in emergency call back situations.
  • Responds to all referrals in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Provides good customer service by utilizing good communication skills and technical knowledge to ensure UTHET and departmental objectives are maintained.
  • This position is strictly an on-call position and is subject to call-backs.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Must have denominational endorsement.
  • At least two years pastoral or lay ministry experience

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Advanced degree from an accredited seminary and Clinical Pastoral Education
  • Some knowledge of hospital structure and procedure
