Location: Estate Hotel 225 NW Couch St. Portland, OR 97209

Schedule: Thursday - Sunday 3:00pm-11:30pm

Salary: $19.15/hour.

The Resident Services Support Specialist will be responsible for greeting clients, residents, and building visitors, and directing them to the appropriate areas. They will also be responsible for answering inquiries and providing information and updates to staff. They will interact with clients/residents over the course of the shift as appropriate, and enforce the building and program rules. Additionally, they will check in outside visitors, answer and direct telephone calls to appropriate staff, and take messages as needed. This position requires excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with a diverse population.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Greet clients/residents and building visitors and direct as needed to the appropriate areas.
  • Answer inquiries and provide information and updates to staff.
  • Interact with clients/residents over course of shift as appropriate and enforce the building and program rules.
  • Check in outside visitors, answer and direct telephone calls to appropriate staff, and take messages as needed.
  • Monitor the community through the use of security cameras.
  • Handle and deliver mail to staff and clients/residents as needed.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of common areas in the building to monitor building, clients, residents and guest behavior.
  • Assist residents with understanding policies and procedures within the building and within Central City Concern.
  • Support clients in completing necessary CCC forms such as maintenance requests, grievances and resident reports.
  • Provide general housekeeping of common work spaces, lobby, and staff restrooms as needed.
  • Perform data entry, generate reports, create correspondence, and file client/resident information and additional information as needed.
  • Log events such as deliveries, staff arrival and departure, and other relevant events that occur in the community.
  • Submit incident reports and notify appropriate property management or service staff in regards to incidents that occur during your shift concerning residents/clients behavior that you observe.
  • Obtain urinalysis and/or breathalyzers from clients/residents when suspicious of alcohol and/or drug use in our Alcohol and Drug Free Communities, and as requested by case management, supportive housing or property management staff.
  • Update building roster and resident photos.
  • Complete and maintain unit turnover roster.
  • Assist new residents with move in and orientation with the community.
  • Check building emails regularly and respond as needed.
  • Assist Property Management and/or Supportive Housing staff with disbursement of notices and rent statements if requested.
  • Ensure that there are adequate copies of all necessary forms for Resident Service Support Specialist to perform job duties.
  • Maintain all front desk/resident forms that assist with keeping track of clients in the building.
  • Update lobby area with appropriate health related information, Resident Report forms, Maintenance Request forms and other materials.
  • Lock down office and report to other downtown buildings as requested by a supervisor if an emergency arises, with the exception of the 8x8, Henry and Estate.
  • Provide job shadowing and mentoring to on-call and/or new employees in the program.
  • Adhere to all state and federal privacy and security regulations applicable to the program, and to CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security. This includes immediately reporting any breach of protected health information or personal identification information of any person receiving CCC services by CCC or an outside provider to the CCC Compliance Department, as well as to your supervisor or their designee.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Basic understanding and knowledge of resources and assistance that residents may need throughout their stay.
  • Basic knowledge of chemical dependency as a disease, treatment and intervention methods.
  • Relevant or adequate knowledge of CCC health services and area health resources.
  • Ability to work as a team member and to establish priorities.
  • Ability to display a non-judgmental attitude, and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of community and social agencies, and self-help groups.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to perform assigned tasks.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work and maintain professional composure in an environment where people may be verbally hostile.
  • Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Detailed oriented; ability to maintain accurate records and necessary paperwork.
  • Ability to learn and apply training instruction.
  • Ability to use computers for basic functions, or ability to be trained in their use.
  • Knowledge of de-escalation methods or ability to be trained in de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to interact respectfully and effectively communicate with clients, co-workers, corrections personnel, police, merchants, the public at large and supervisor.
  • Ability to provide advocacy, as appropriate.
  • Professional maintenance of appropriate boundaries.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted during the course of work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have knowledge of chemical dependency, addictions and mental health issues.
