Job Description

Our INVISTA Victoria, TX facility is seeking entrepreneurial, innovative leaders to join our team as a Mechanical Superintendent.


Our Team

You will have a span of control of 40-50 direct employees. Your focus will be to drive the capability growth within your team to directly impact asset availability and reliability.


What You Will Do

  • Responsible for the Safety and Environmental performance of the Maintenace Group.
  • Ensure safe workplace practices are always followed and drive safety awareness by leading by example.
  • Drive safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively identify hazards and implement the appropriate mitigating strategies based on the risk involved.
  • Lead the maintenance team through the transition to team-based maintenance and Transformation.
  • Enable your team to act towards creating the most value possible and increasing the overall fulfillment of the group.
  • Grow and develop the Machinery capability to troubleshoot, scope repairs, perform repairs and overhauls, and learn and apply maintenance strategies that support the industry's best Mean Time between failures.
  • Own and drive reliability practices in your group. Core work processes, KIR Workflow, RCFA, and Precision Maintenance.
  • Establish aggressive targets and groups accountable to measures in backlog, PMs, efficiency, and quality.
  • Lead and continually advance the maintenance organization -- including predictive, preventive, and proactive rotating maintenance analysis.
  • Manage the rotating and general maintenance support staff in a way that cultivates our management philosophy, fosters teamwork, and produces results.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement processes through decision-making, employee involvement, systems, and training.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager in aligning maintenance costs within the vision of the department's spending plan.
  • Monitor the quality of craft work and provide direction to crew members to maximize production efficiency; assist with troubleshooting production issues; provide safety training to crew members; coaching; team development/performance management; data entry and completing/generating reports.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • 7+ years of refining/process industry experience
  • Direct supervisory/leadership experience to troubleshoot, maintain, and monitor rotating equipment including compressors, turbines, pumps, blowers, centrifuges, gearboxes etc.)
  • Experience maintaining an environment that promotes continuous improvement in: EH&S, craftsmanship, and employee development
  • Able to lead Root Cause investigations and implement solutions that support the industry's best mean time between failure
  • Strong focus and understanding of "precision maintenance"
  • Direct work experience driving reliability programs
