Job Description

MWH Constructors, an industry leader in the heavy civil construction of water and wastewater facilities, is currently seeking a Survey Manager to support the construction of a Water Treatment Plant located in Portland, OR. This project will be the first of its kind in, scheduled to break ground in Summer of 2024 and ultimately supplying 135 million gallons of water a day to the Portland community by Fall of 2027. This position is a great opportunity to be a part of a historic infrastructure and filtration project and see it through the entire project delivery life cycle, from groundbreaking to closeout.


The Survey Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing survey projects specifically for large-scale water and wastewater construction projects. This role involves designing survey questionnaires, analyzing data, and preparing survey reports tailored to the needs of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The Survey Manager will collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure surveys meet project objectives and deadlines within the construction industry.

Essential Functions

  • Develop survey questionnaires tailored to large water/wastewater construction projects.
  • Coordinate and oversee survey implementation and data collection on construction sites.
  • Analyze survey data specific to water and wastewater infrastructure projects and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders.
  • Present findings to internal teams and clients involved in construction projects.
  • Work closely with construction teams and project stakeholders to ensure survey objectives align with project goals.
  • Monitor survey progress on construction sites and address any survey-related issues that impact project timelines and quality.
  • Stay informed about survey trends and best practices within the water and wastewater construction industry to enhance survey processes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Science).
  • Proven experience in survey design, data analysis, and report preparation for water/wastewater construction projects.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead survey projects in the construction industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with construction teams and clients.
  • Proficiency in survey software and tools relevant to water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Attention to detail and ability to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
  • Knowledge of survey methodologies and best practices within the context of construction projects.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field with a focus on water/wastewater construction projects.
  • Experience with online survey platforms customized for construction industry needs.
  • Certification in survey methodology or related field applicable to water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
