Release Manager

Overview

Softtek Government Solutions is seeking a Release Manager. The Release Manager is responsible for the overall coordination and timely delivery of releases as they are deployed from development, testing, UAT, and production environments.

Responsibilities

• The Release Manager documents risk to delivery time and communicates impacts to schedule immediately to all stakeholders (ITPMs, Product Owners, and UAT and development teams).
• The Release Manager also proposes and executes mitigation plans to minimize impact to performance and delivery schedules.
• The Release Manager shall collaborate with release managers from our customer and external organizations to identify dependencies and impacts to release schedules.
• The Release Manager shall work with the Requirements Team and UAT testers from the Business to communicate development complete dates and testing schedules.
• The Release Manager shall work with the Quality Assurance Automation Engineer Team Lead, Scrum Masters, Lead Software Security Developer, POAM Project Manager, and Cloud Architect/Engineers to develop release plans, deploy releases and plan bug fixes and address Root Cause Analysis (RCAs).

Qualifications

Required Education

• Bachelor's degree

Required Experience

• 8+ years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification
• DHS Section 508 Trusted Tester certification
• Quality Assurance Institute (QAI) Certified Software Test Engineer (CSTE) certification
• Experience developing and implementing efficient and effective testing strategies, test conditions and test scripts for projects
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification
• Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Experience creating release guidelines to train team members and post on the SEVIS Confluence page
• Experience communicating key project commitments, plans, changes and requirements to teams.
• Experience measuring and monitoring the progress of releases after deployment
• Experience planning the release of project deliverables
• Experience managing risks that may affect release scope
• Experience constructing product roadmaps in Jira for each project to have a centralized view of all releases
• Experience making improvements to the methodologies used for configuration management
• Experience collecting feedback from different teams and customers for review
• Experience maintaining documents related to procedures on build and release
• Experience ensuring releases meet acceptance criteria as stated in the requirements
• Experience providing weekly updates on release activities
• Experience resolving issues regarding release quality and schedule.
• Experience determining how third-party applications, infrastructure updates, and defect backlogs affect releases
• Experience identifying any project dependencies that could alter the course of release
• Experience with all aspects of configuration management planning including configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, configuration audits, configuration documentation
• Excellent active listening and verbal communication skills
• Strong business writing ability
• Flexible and adaptable attitude
• Can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
• Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of stakeholders
• Ability to discuss technical issues with non-technical, executive-level government ocials
• Leading and mentoring teams
