Job Description

PURPOSE

This role requires a seasoned Accounts Payable Manager to manage the accounts payable function, including overseeing the accounts payable team and processes. The position also presents the opportunity for the successful candidate to build the team following a recent acquisition, as well as assist with the implementation of an invoice automation solution.

DUTIES:

  • Hiring, Training, and Supervising Staff:
    • Responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising accounts payable team members.
  • Overseeing Routine Activities:
    • Ensure that routine department activities, such as processing payments to suppliers, are completed accurately and on time.
  • Record Keeping:
    • Maintaining accurate and complete financial records that would meet internal and external audit requirements.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial information to management and government agencies.
  • Budgeting and Policy Implementation:
    • Developing, implementing, improving, and enforcing budgets, policies, and department controls to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • System Implementation:
    • With the assistance of the project management team, be a key member of the team implementing a new invoice automation solution.
  • Relationship Building:
    • Building and maintaining relationships with employees, clients, suppliers, and other relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or related experience.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in a similar Accounts Payable role.
  • Experience working within a Shared Services Organization is a plus.
  • Experience building teams and implementing invoice automation systems is preferred.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the confidence & ability to communicate with all levels of business.
  • Excellent interpersonal, planning, and problem-solving skills.
