Position Description:

As a Process Improvement Engineer, you will successfully deliver process improvement outcomes within the business processes. You will deliver critical process simplification that helps to ensure operational scaling with proactive thinking in place while reducing business risk and ensuring long-term sustainability and reliability. The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and in a state of change and ambiguity, has a track record of building strong relationships across the organization, considers change management as part of process improvements, is able to process map and value stream map leveraging appropriate tools and practices, has strong facilitation and communication skills, and a solid understanding of business and technology systems that support processes.

This is a hands-on position that requires close and effective cross departmental working relationship with personnel responsible for Applications, Project Management, Engineering, Planning, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Material Handling, Assembly & Test, Quality and Field Service.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Document and evaluate existing engineering processes to align them with structure, responsibility, performance monitoring, information/communication flow, auditing, improvement opportunities.

  • Develop and update engineering processes and tools in line with company priorities to support rapid growth and scaling.

  • Effective use of change management tools and techniques to ensure adoption and buy-in of all stakeholders to the processes and systems company wide.

  • Facilitate sessions to identify current state processes and recommend solutions for future state changes based on DMAIC processes and tools.

  • Create SOPs, work instructions, process mapping, flowchart, control plan policies, reports, etc.

  • Investigate, experiment with, and implement processes to maximize project execution productivity.

  • Lead and facilitate process improvement events and workshops including Root Cause Analysis, Process Mapping, Value Stream Mapping, etc.

  • Lead or support the design, implementation or improvement of lean concepts and systems in engineering.

  • Tracking of significant improvement initiatives, establishing a pipeline of improvement initiatives, monitoring, and validating results of improvement activities, etc.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities-Required:

  • 2-5 years of demonstrated experience applying Lean and Six Sigma problem solving tools and methods to drive significant performance improvement.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical preferred), or technical field required.

Preferred:

  • Certification in Lean and Six Sigma strongly desired.

  • Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab) a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Strong background in process improvement, problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations, and strong program management skills.

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving and critical thinking skills with decision-making confidence.

  • Understanding of organizational change management

  • Comprehensive understanding of Lean concepts and Six Sigma quality tools/methods.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated teaching and coaching skills, including ability to influence without formal authority.

  • Fundamental knowledge of operations cost accounting / finance.

  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).

  • Exceptional time management skills, ability to successfully manage multiple projects/assignments concurrently and drive to completion in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation Details

Annual Salary: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00

Additional Compensation

Salary Range for this position: $75k-95k (the salary offered will be determined based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, and will be compared with internal equity along with market data for this position).
