Job Description

SUMMARY

Provide general support to the Industrial Security Manager (ISM)/Corporate Facility Security Officer (FSO) and the industrial security department. These duties will include Position reports to Katmai Government Services (KGS) Industrial Security Manager, and working closely with employees who are in a "need-to-know" position. The AFSO will have an understanding and experience of 32 CFR Part 117 National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and general security requirements for DOD and other Federal agencies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in all aspects pertaining to the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) for the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). This will include but not be limited to:
    • Create individual DISS screens.
    • Understand the requirements and systems to process someone for a DoD and DoE security clearance.
    • Verify employee personnel information.
    • Print archival and signature pages.
    • Transmit clearance information to DCSA.
    • Process visitor authorization requests.
    • Monitor reinvestigation requirements of personnel.
  • Maintain the facility clearance documentation and notices for each cleared facility in the DCSA's system, and support facility clearance sponsoring efforts.
  • Work with Corporate FSO to ensure compliance with NISPOM and DD 441 for each Katmai entity with a facility clearance.
  • Prepare VARs (Visit Authorization Requests) via DISS or manual process.
  • Provide guidance to executives, program managers, and staff on security-related matters, including briefings, training, and security clearance processing.
  • Review all security paperwork for accuracy, completion, and submission via the government's system.
  • Instruct employees to ensure completion of security paperwork and related training.
  • Report the status of clearance applications to the manager, applicants, and employees going through a periodic reinvestigation.
  • Maintain accurate records for all security documentation and files in accordance with DCSA rules, regulations, and best practices.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance with security training programs for the company - will be tasked with presenting security awareness materials company-wide and/or select groups within the company and distributing via the company's compliance distribution method.
  • Conduct internal audits, and self-inspections at prescribed intervals.
  • Assist the Corporate FSO with preparing necessary documentation in support of DCSA security assessments.
  • Provide security support to Human Resources, Contracts, and Proposal teams.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Satisfactory completion of mandatory FSO courses and training via DCSA within six (6) months of hire.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Information Systems or related field. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Five (5+) plus years of experience in facility security administration and management.
  • Experience conducting industrial security operations for the U.S. DoD or U.S. Intelligence Community.
  • An active TS (U.S. citizenship required).
  • Past experience executing a facility growth plan (e.g. lease, buy, build) for classified location(s) to include working with customer sponsors and their security team to build out and accredit corporate SCIF space.
  • Experience with DISS, NISS, and NBIS.
  • Knowledge of both DoD and IC customer workflows.
  • Knowledge of OPSEC procedures and application of OPSEC to Sensitive Government information (FOUO, CUI).
  • Knowledge of NATO briefings.
  • Self-driven and results oriented, capable of effectively working multiples tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Prior special access programs security experience.
  • Relevant professional memberships (NCMS, ISAC, etc.).
  • Completed the Facility Security Officer Program Management for Possessing Facilities Curriculum Certificate.
  • Good analytical and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality restrictions, also quality and safety standards.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and within deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to work with the attitude of helpfulness, including within a team environment.
  • Ability to work with limited on-site supervision, self-motivated.

WORK SCHEDULE

40 hours per week. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

TRAVEL

Potential for travel for training. When required, employee will need to complete an MVR check.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS

Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver's license and be insurable on the company's automobile insurance policy. Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 5%.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is expected to be remote; however, the company reserves the right to require onsite work.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position consists of seeing up close and sitting for long periods of time, bending, stooping, crouching, and lifting up to 10 pounds. Frequently uses hands/fingers for manipulation of keyboard and mouse. COMPENSATION PACKAGE

  • Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000 per year
