Job Description

This is a hybrid role, requiring onsite collaboration at Columbia Sportswear's headquarters in Portland, Oregon Tuesday - Thursday of each week.

ABOUT THE POSITION

As a Quantitative Analyst on the Consumer Insights & Strategy team at Columbia, you develop and help implement research that provides foundational learning about the consumer to inform marketing, product strategy and development, innovation, as well as measure brand awareness for GTM (go-to-market) strategy and campaigns.

HOWYOU'LLMAKE ADIFFERENCE

  • Launch and manage multiple discrete research projects concurrently for CSC (Columbia Sportswear Company) portfolio of brands alongside partners in marketing, merchandising, innovation, product, and brand as part of the seasonal go to market process, as well as for strategic planning.

  • Quickly and accurately analyze, understand, and visualize data to derive meaningful insights that support partner function strategic priorities, using a variety of analysis and visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, R, Python, Qualtrics, PPT, etc.)

  • Communicate professionally and with clarity in a way that drives awareness and understanding of the outdoor consumer

  • Understand and use technical platforms for data collection (Qualtrics,Dscout, First Insight, etc.) and employ various research methodologies and designs across those platforms

  • Help influence peers across the organization to highlight the consumer in decisions related to product, marketplace, audience, marketing tactics, and go to market

YOU ARE

  • Always thinking about the consumer andcanlink functional questions to appropriate methodologies to drive insights and strategy

  • Enterprising and curious, solving problems with whatever tools are available

  • Able to translate complex ideas into simple and intuitive visuals and communications

  • Passionate about data and research methodologies and actively seek to develop expertise in these practices

  • Flexible and can comfortably work with a degree of ambiguity

YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Quantitative Psychology, etc.

  • Experience in research; including hypothesis generation, survey design, data preparation, analysis, visualization, and synthesis.

  • Educational experience or a deep interest in consumer psychology and behavioral science

  • 2+ years of professional experience, preferably in a consulting, strategy, or similar role with exposure to varying industries, functions, and business problems

  • Intrinsic motivation to understand the outdoor consumer and how to deliver the best possible brand experience
