The Opioid Response Network is a group of diverse individuals and organizations working together to address the opioid and stimulant crisis in this country. In an effort to address this crisis, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration awarded funding to the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry and a coalition of national organizations to provide training and education in evidence-based practices in the prevention, treatment, and recovery of substance use disorders.

The ORN works with states, health professionals, communities, organizations, healthcare centers, the justice system, and individuals in all 50 U.S. states and nine territories to provide free education and training tailored specifically to address local needs.

The Program Coordinator I shall be responsible for:

  1. Coordinating activities and daily operations of the ORN Program, including tracking requests for technical assistance, speaking engagements, etc., managing the communication with requesters and the ORN staff, and planning the logistics with Boston Children's staff to fulfill the requests.
  2. May be preparing or assisting in the preparation of a proposal for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors.
  3. Conferring with staff and others to provide technical advice, providing problem-solving assistance, and answering questions about the ORN program. Referring inquiries to others as needed.
  4. May be preparing or assisting in the preparation of periodic reports and records on program activities, progress, status, or other special reports for management or outside agencies.
  5. May be reviewing applications or other program documents in conjunction with the supervisor to determine acceptance or make decisions pertaining to the program.
  6. May be assisting in the coordination of recruitment efforts.
  7. Drafting written communication and promotional literature.
  8. May be assisting in planning workshops, meetings, or conferences; coordinating logistics, scheduling, and participant communications.
  9. Interacting and maintaining liaison with staff, faculty, and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives.
  10. May be assisting in drafting, writing, and coordinating social media posts and website updates and edits.
  11. Will be cross-trained in other programs within the Division of Addiction Medicine, including Primary Care Plus and/or the Fellowship Program.

To qualify, you must have:

  • 1 year of relevant experience
  • Associate's Degree
  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
  • The ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies.
