Senior Python Automation Engineer - Temporary (R2622)

Job Description
The Hivemind Systems - Test team is dedicated to ensuring the highest level of quality, reliability, and performance in our Hivemind software ecosystem. In this role, you will work with our autonomy and simulation teams to build simulation tests that cover a variety of scenarios, e.g. single-agent waypoint missions, multi-agent coverage, object tracking, etc.
What you'll do:- Your role will be to automate test cards for simulation and hardware-in-the-loop tests. The job entails learning a Python-based tooling framework and using this framework to automate test cases.
- Tests cases will be provided in plain English as a series of instructions for an aircraft: "Takeoff, fly straight, bank left, etc."
- Automation of each test case requires using the Python tooling framework to script each instruction as a formatted message to the aircraft.
- Each script will need to be checked for correctness through an evaluation procedure and then uploaded to an automated test runner, which will perform the test by using the script to command an aircraft in simulation.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or similar discipline
- 3+ years of experience
- Experience with Python and Git in a professional software development environment
- Experience with software engineering best practices, e.g. CI/CD, test-driven development, etc.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies, e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
- You have a demonstrated record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others
- 5+ years of experience
- Experience with simulation, autonomous vehicles frameworks, ROS, and other robotics concepts
