Summary of Role

As a key member of the Customer Service team, the Associate Director of Billing is responsible for end-to-end billing activities and provide inputs to strategic decisions that affect revenue streams and/or billing principles. This role reports to the Director of Customer Service and is responsible to ensure timely and accurate invoicing to customers. This leadership role is accountable to liaise with internal stakeholders including but not limited to Commercial and Finance teams. Implements, maintains, and supports all corporate policies and procedures. Communicates effectively with staff to share operational and company information; maintains full compliance following all relevant Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Manage, mentor, and lead a support team responsible for the following:
    • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing of customers, credit memos, and adjustments.
  • Own the end-to-end process for all invoicing processes and controls, collaborate with cross functional teams, and works independently with internal and external auditors.
  • Collaborate closely with the Customer Service team to ensure exceptional customer experiences and order resolution.
  • Robust understanding of order management systems and processes with flow and integration to ERP.
  • Accountable to productivity and performance SLAs for billing and credit transactions. Partners with finance as required on A/R follow up.
  • Works with IT and master data teams to ensure file maintenance is accurate and current. Routinely review and monitor reporting to ensure accuracy of master files.
  • Leads and implements process improvement and automation initiatives, documenting processes for efficiency.
  • Assists with preparation for audits; participates in audits.
  • Supports other company wide cross functional projects as necessary.
  • Provide data relative to government reporting as needed.
  • Provide ad/hoc reports as needed for cross functional partners.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in accounting required.
  • 5+ years of experience in Revenue accounting and ASC 606.
  • 5+ years of management experience in coaching and developing teams.
  • Experience with U.S. GAAP and SEC financial reporting rules and regulations.
  • Experience with financial systems and ERP, preferably SAP experience.
  • Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  • High attention to detail.
