Position Overview:

Artivion Inc. is seeking a highly motivated tax professional to join our tax accounting and reporting team at our fast-growing, multinational public company. The tax manager will work closely with the tax director to provide tax provision, compliance, and planning support as well as process improvements to scale tax operations. This opportunity requires strong analytical, technical, and communication skills in addition to the ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively while managing multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist with all aspects of the preparation of worldwide ASC 740 quarterly and annual tax provisions, using OneSource Tax Provision software
  • Assist with the data gather and preparation of annual forms (e.g. 5471, 8858 and 1118) included as part of the Federal consolidated return
  • Review Federal and State returns prepared by 3rd party advisors. Prepare domestic and foreign return to provision reconciliations and related journal entries
  • Assist with US and International cash tax projections
  • Assist with transfer pricing documentation, monitoring and analysis
  • Support R&D credit studies, international expansion, and other internal tax research projects
  • Assist maintain and track a global tax calendar, direct and indirect
  • Assist with the tracking and resolving of domestic tax notices and tax related inquiries from other functions within the Company
  • Assist with preparation of quarterly income tax estimates, business licenses and other indirect tax filings (excluding sales and use tax filings)
  • Support SOX compliance through documentation and timely performance controls
  • Support the evolution of the tax function, tax technology tools, and technological enhancements using accounting and finance reporting systems
  • Develop and supervise tax staff and/or senior
  • Assist with ad hoc requests and projects as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in tax, preferably with a mix of public accounting and global in-house corporate tax function experience
  • Excellent organizational skills; proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work well with others in a team setting, highly motivated, and a self-starter
  • Strong analytical, technical, written, and oral communication skills
  • Proactive and resourceful team player with positive attitude and energy, close attention to detail
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite products
  • International tax experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of OneSource Tax Provision preferred
  • Knowledge of US income tax laws related to multinational corporations with a strong understanding of income tax returns and financial accounting
  • Ability to collect data, establish facts, research technical issues and draw valid conclusions
