GAI's Community Solutions Group seeks a is actively seeking a GIS Analyst for immediate employment. This position will support our parks, land, and community planning projects for private and public clients in designing, managing, and creating GIS data and services. This position is within our Community Solutions Group which is our special multi-disciplinary practice that links Landscape Architecture with Urban Planning and Redevelopment Economics. The successful candidate brings approximately 3 years of experience with a focus on GIS applications related to Land Planning, Demography, and Spatial Analysis. This position is eligible for our flexible hybrid work schedule and a sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Gather, analyze, and integrate spatial data and determine how the information can best be displayed using GIS.
  • Perform various network analyses to understand distribution and access of related planning aspects.
  • Design Esri Story Maps, Web Apps, Dashboards, and online interactive maps through ArcGIS Online.
  • Geolocate and digitize spatial features into GIS formats.
  • Work with project teams and clients to define data needs, project requirements, and required outputs for designing GIS products.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

  • A bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a commensurate degree with GIS experience.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience with Esri GIS software and services - ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Web AppBuilder, Field Maps, Survey123, etc.
  • Experience with publishing, developing, and managing GIS content.
  • Ability to independently conduct geoprocessing and spatial analyses using ArcGIS software to effectively employ GIS as a tool in parks, land, and community planning projects. This includes, but is not limited to, extracting and overlaying data, calculating attribute fields, summarizing, and aggregating data, calculating statistics, querying data, and using network analyst.
  • Ability to independently manage data in an organized fashion. This includes, but is not limited to, creating, and maintaining geodatabases, tables, domains, subtypes, and internal file structures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with clients and project teams.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and is motivated, focused, and eager to research, learn, and grow as a GIS professional.

Preferred

  • Experience in applying GIS in the Urban Planning sector or related topics.
  • Experience with Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
  • Experience with 3D Analyst and/or ArcGIS Urban and interest in learning other new geospatial tools.
  • Basic Python programming skills or other language that translate into GIS functions and automation.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or the ability to transform AutoCAD drawings into GIS formats and vice versa.

Education
Bachelors of Geography (required)
