Join Our Team as a Forklift Repair Technician!

Responsibilities:
As a Forklift Repair Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of our fleet of forklifts to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on forklifts, including inspecting, lubricating, and adjusting components to ensure optimal performance
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on forklifts in a timely manner.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of forklifts to identify any potential problems or safety concerns.
  • Replace worn or damaged parts and components as needed.\
  • Test forklifts after repairs to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed on each forklift.
  • Assist with the installation and setup of new forklifts as needed.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance and repairs.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding maintenance schedules, repair timelines, and parts orders.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in forklift technology.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED required; additional mechanic training or trade school degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a forklift mechanic or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of forklift systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
  • Forklift certification and/or relevant technical training preferred.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and standardized procedures accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate to heavy objects.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and priorities.
  • Willingness to learn and contribute to a safe and productive workplace.

Physical Demands/Equipment:

  • Independently lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 100 lbs. rarely.
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, squat on a frequent basis while on or off loading.
  • Able to grasp, reach, push or pull (such as boxes of product, or a hand truck) on a frequent basis.
  • May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May be exposed to dust, feathers, and all chemicals used in poultry processing facility.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
  • Able to stand for several hours.
  • Ability to occasionally work in a noisy warehouse environment.
  • Able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toe protective footwear, harness, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc.)
  • Ability to handle and physically be near products which may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.).
