Job DescriptionThe College Readiness Coordinator is responsible for developing, planning, managing, and executing Challenger Learning Center, STEM programs, and summer camps initiatives. Oversees the development and enhancement of programs & curriculum for all programs which include but not limit to Challenger Learning Center, STEM programs and Summer camps. College Readiness Coordinator is the P-16 liaison between TSTC and external groups, businesses, schools, and educational partners to advance, promote, and implement services specific to TSTC's college readiness initiatives and college mission.

Essential Functions

  • Employee will demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students and members of the community.
  • Responsible for overseeing and managing all phases of Challenger Learning Center, STEM programs, and summer camps which include budget decisions, program activities, staff supervision, and future planning. Manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and meet program objectives.
  • Hire and supervise personnel within the areas of responsibility, which include Challenger Learning Center, STEM programs, Summer camps, and other programs that fall under Challenger Learning Center/College Readiness. Manage, monitor and track all program expenditures. Administer all service invoices and billing.
  • Administer all processes for the programs and events including, course registration, program application, and communication with applicants, funding sources, program management and evaluations. Schedule and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the programs for the adequate implementation of the program objectives. Ensure program objectives, goals and benchmark are met and tracked.
  • Develop, cultivate, and maintain working relationships with internal/external departments/Independent School Districts and other organizations associated with benefit to the Center for Science and Math Education. Establish and generate memorandum of understanding with school districts.
  • Provide training and facilitation of services with partners. Coordinate, plan and organize presentations to school districts, community and other external partners of program activities and initiatives.
  • Seek new STEM Education initiatives. Design and deliver engaging STEM instruction and activities for elementary, middle and high school students. Implement program services such as grant administration, college readiness events, and secondary professional development opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills

  • Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Three years of successful work experience in Secondary and/or Post-Secondary Education.
  • Ability to serve as a liaison between TSTC and community resources.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and meet program objectives.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule of occasional evenings and weekends.
  • This job description covers a position in which the percentage of time spent on the essential functions will vary based on the workload and will ultimately be determined by the supervisor.
