Job Description

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

To develop, implement, and maintain final and test engineering systems in order to achieve the appropriate quality levels as defined by Gichner and customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists in directing the efforts of the assigned Test personnel, including supervision of TPLis, technical training and associated personnel actions.
  • Ensures department work areas are safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant through training, implementation of EHS policies, and continuous improvement.i
  • Oversees the creation of test plans, procedures and special tests for submittal to customers for review and approval.
  • Oversees the creation test data packages, and tests reports for submittal to customers on completed programs.
  • Provides inputs for scheduling of testing operations and monitors test performance.
  • Coordinates and oversees third-party and off-site testing operations.
  • Reviews contract releases for test requirements. .
  • Represents Gichner Test team during audits, inspection, and as part of acceptance by customer and with government personnel.
  • Responsible for CAPA initiation and follow up within responsible area, up to and including FRACAS activities.
  • Reviews quotes and provides technical input and inspection/test pricing to the quote team and supports the development of technical proposals.
  • Provides test information and technical guidance to Engineering in the areas of structural, environmental, electrical, mechanical and electromagnetic compliance.
  • Witnesses off-site testing performed by subcontractors.
  • Acts as or assists with the Gichner Representative for Government Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP).

This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Required Experience:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards

Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors

Ability to adhere to workplace rules

Ability to create Acceptance Test Plans and Acceptance Test Procedures

Ability to understand and interpret test results for the purpose of RCCA

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

4-year college/university education in technical field, or equivalent experience required.

5+years related experience.

Strong background in shelter in functional and environmental test. Problem solving experience and use of root cause analysis tools

Microsoft Office proficiency, electrical theory and testing knowledge.

EMI/EMC/HEMP technology and measurement, Electrical systems, Mechanical, Environmental testing methods, knowledge of GIDEP system

WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Office environment

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time

Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones)

Ability to lift iup to 10 pounds
