As a Senior Project Engineer at Clariant, you will be a key player in managing and executing complex capital projects. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, ensuring successful project delivery while adhering to internal and external regulations. Reporting to the Sr. Manager Investments and Studies, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge initiatives and drive meaningful change.


Responsibilities

  • You will manage defined capital projects, considering internal and external regulations, product quality, economy, process technology, occupational safety, and environmental protection.
  • Focus on projects under $1 million for the site, utilizing the FEL Gate process while presenting projects to management for approval of funding.
  • Steer and control project progress to achieve agreed project targets with regards to timeline and budget.
  • Provide direction and assistance in the preparation of capital estimates, budgets, and scope documents. Ensure completion and accuracy of capital appropriation requests (CARs).
  • Supervise contractors, suppliers, and plant employees for project-specific tasks.
  • Direct contract engineering firms during engineering, procurement, and construction management.
  • Document key project measurements in project progress reports and the project closure report.
  • Perform feasibility studies, basic engineering, and technical dimensioning of equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (Master's would be a plus).
  • Seeking 5+ years of experience in production or maintenance experience in a plant environment
  • Experience in process improvement and project management highly desired, within a chemical plant would be a plus.
  • CAD/CAM experience: Engineering Drawings (PIDs, PFDs, Layouts, I/O etc. would be a plus
  • Experience managing third party contractors and engineering firs would be a major plus.
