POSITION SUMMARY

The Physician Operations Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations of a healthcare facility's physician services department and will be responsible for managing work queues.


Responsibilities

  • Manage Charge Router Work Queues
  • Work with Management to determine Clinical workflow breakdowns
  • Assist all markets with training and adhering to the charge reconciliation process
  • Work with Market Leadership to implement timely charge capture and resolution of any issues
  • Liaison to Market level credentialing departments and manage provider credentialing in EMR system
  • Miscellaneous Epic work queues assigned to resolve claim edits. Responsible for placing IT tickets to resolve system related issues.
  • Point of contact for Administrator for Payer Websites. Support all markets and clinic staff with access to payer portals
  • Builds teamwork and maintains effective communication with peers, co-worker, administration and various other departments.
  • Reports, investigate and assists in resolution of compliance and charge issues.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Accounting or related field
  • 5+ years of current healthcare billing experience
  • Extensive experience using spreadsheets and database computer applications; this includes development of reporting tools to support management decision-making, preferred.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have excellent social skills and be able to handle difficult people and situations. Able to relate to others including patients, employees, coworkers, senior management, vendors and the general public.
  • Basic knowledge of the revenue cycle.
  • General computer skills, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.
  • Demonstrated teaching and mentoring skills are preferred
