Description

Operate and maintain high pressure boilers and appurtances in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable laws

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance repair in the boiler room in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Must be familiar with safe work practices including but not limited to, lock out tag out, confined space entry, ladder and climbing safety, hot works, etc.
  • Repair, rebuild and replace pumps
  • Perform general cleaning and painting
  • Assist plant personnel and co-workers as needed
  • Interact with others in a professional and ethical manner
  • Follow department and company procedures
  • Keep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctionality are essential for the smooth operation of this company
  • Completes reports and forwards to appropriate state and federal agencies as required

  • Other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the business. These responsibilities may change from time to time are business needs evolve over time.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Professional Certifications, Education, Experience and Travel Requirements

  • Must possess a Massachusetts Engineer License, Second Class
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Zero to Six months of experience
  • Less than 5% travel requirement

Physical Demands/Requirements

Constantly (over 2/3):

  • Must be able to position self to maintain equipment or perform duties in confined and/or tight spaces
  • Must be able to move around industrial equipment in manufacturing facility
  • Operates and uses maintenance/mechanic tools including electrical hand tools
  • Must be able to detect and observe equipment in need of repair, cleaned, or painted and materials that need to be moved/removed

Frequently (1/3-2/3):

  • Utilize tools to make adjustments, repairs
  • Move and transport material, equipment and tools up to 50-100 lbs with and without specialized lifting, moving and rigging equipment
  • Moves across wet/slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Ascends/descends heights while maintaining balance

Occasionally (under 1/3):

  • Ability to move and transport material, equipment and tools up to 70 lbs. with and without specialized equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and follow directions in the process of operating equipment
