We have an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Moorpark, CA team. You will maintain existing designs and the evaluation and execution of changes to original design through our engineering change process. This is achieved through integration with all other cross functions - operations, manufacturing engineering, supply chain, marketing, sales, and quality.

You will:

  • Execute sustaining engineering opportunities on existing products by improving quality, enhancing features/performance, reducing cost, or qualifying alternate parts/materials/suppliers.
  • Lead projects from concept to release with strong sense of urgency, utilizing company product release and engineering change processes.
  • Lead or assist in the responsibilities for all aspects of the design including FEA, CAD, specifications, agency requirements, tolerance analysis, DFMEA/PFMEA, material analysis.
  • Create and maintain accurate and complete drawing package, costed BOM & product specifications.
  • Coordinate the purchase of production or prototype parts for testing.
  • Plan and document validation testing for all stages of projects.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience as an engineer performing product changes or clean sheet design.
  • 5+ years of experience using solid modeling CAD design tools (SolidWorks).
  • Experience in leading engineering-based projects.
  • Experience with injection molded plastic parts, sheet metal parts, machined parts, seals, including material properties and part design.
  • Familiarity with the mechanical elements of electrical components including PCBAs.
  • Familiar with PPAP's, DVP&R's, DFMEA's, PFMEA's and GD&T

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $78,000 - 145,000 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, and other relevant business or organizational needs. Actual compensation may be otherwise adjusted if the position if filled outside of the intended geographic location.
