The Systems Administrator plays an important role within IT and throughout Prolacta Bioscience. This role provides server, network and level 3 helpdesk support to our personnel, resolving system and client issues in a professional and timely manner, establishing and following standard procedures, and tracking helpdesk tickets to closure. This role will work closely with the IT Manager and be responsible for the execution of software, hardware and network patching and upgrades throughout the enterprise. The successful candidate will be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and want to grow with the company. They must possess excellent communication skills, be friendly, self-disciplined, goal oriented, focused on details, and have a positive attitude. This role requires the ability to work outside of standard business hours and to be on call as needed.

How you will contribute

This role will provide you with the opportunity to contribute to the growth of our organization and develop your professional skills by...

  • Tier 3 Level Helpdesk support including but not limited to Prolacta's internal network, internet , remote access methods, telephone connectivity, and virtual and/or physical servers.
  • Responds to and diagnoses routine problems through discussions with end-users and internal IT team
  • Provides help-desk support for local users; applying diagnostic techniques to identify common problems, investigate causes, and recommend solutions.
  • Supports and manages various Applications such as Active Directory, Exchange/Outlook/OWA and line of business applications.
  • Proactively monitors and administers servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, software deployments, security updates and patches.
  • Proactively monitors network and server performance
  • Provides end-user software troubleshooting and support for complex problems

Other duties and responsibilities

  • Documents policies and procedures and provides technical training to internal IT personnel
  • Assists with end user documentation and training
  • Maintains IT Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions
  • Assists with network troubleshooting and support
  • Insures backup storage, back-up and disaster recovery systems are functioning optimally
  • Effectively communicates and escalates difficult problems to the IT Manager
  • Tracks, logs, and analyzes help desk incident reports to identify recurring issues
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned
  • Interfaces and communicates clearly with department peers, internal employees, and external partners to escalate problems as needed and resolve issues
  • Ensures that all problems are logged, resolved/assigned for resolution, prioritized and tracked, and communicated appropriately
  • Provides weekly updates on action items to team members and IT management
  • Other duties as assigned

What you bring to the role

  • College degree in computer science, business or other discipline preferred, combined with 3-5 years' work experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in a technical customer support role
  • MCSA/MCSE, CISSP, or CompTIA Network certifications desired
  • Firm knowledge of Windows server OS, server applications, server hardware, mobile devices network devices, including Salesforce
  • Experienced with hardware and software solutions related to Windows OS workstations, Microsoft Exchange, wireless networks, printers, then clients and virtual desktops
  • Solid understanding of IPSEC VPN configurations, management and maintenance practices
  • 3 years' experience troubleshooting switches, routers, Ethernet and DSL connections (MPLS, fiber, cable, copper)
  • Experienced with VMware ESXi
  • Firm knowledge in Active Directory
  • Experience with Microsoft/Office 365
  • Experience with helpdesk / problem tracking software preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience providing support with remote tools

Salary: $70,000 - $85,000
