Duties & Responsibilities
  • Examples of job duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Contribute to maintaining strong institutional control in all aspects of NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and University of Arizona Athletics rules compliance.
  • Coordinate the initial and continuing eligibility or financial aid processes for all sport programs.
  • Collaborate with department staff to maintain accurate and updated monitoring systems and databases.
  • Contribute to the development and submission of waivers and interpretations for matters associated with initial and continuing eligibility or financial aid
  • Provide interpretations to departmental staff regarding initial and continuing eligibility or financial aid
  • Support department-wide rules education initiatives.
  • Prepare rules education materials and presentations to deliver via various mediums to coaches and staff, student-athletes, and other individuals as necessary
  • Design/adjust workflows in ARMS to incorporate all necessary departments within the athletics department to effectively monitor and streamline various processes and procedures
  • Oversee various monitoring systems and processes in the areas of initial and continuing eligibility or financial aid
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of NCAA, Big 12, and University of Arizona policies, bylaws, interpretations and case precedent.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Compliance.
  • Duties may be adjusted based upon the expertise of the successful candidate.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three years of experience
  • Experience with NCAA rules and regulations
  • Must be available to work nights and weekends and travel as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced graduate degree such as a Master's or Juris Doctor degree.
  • Three years of experience working in an NCAA compliance environment
  • Experience with NCAA Compliance Assistance Software.
  • Experience using ARMS software.
  • Previous responsibilities associated with Bylaw 14 or 15.
