We're actively seeking a talented VP, Investments & Product Solutions to join our Investments team in Newport Beach, CA. This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.

As a VP, Investments & Product Solutions (IPS) you'll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by overseeing and reporting on the asset and liability alignment across our Institutional Division's (ID) general account portfolios. The primary objective of this position is to optimize ID portfolios to balance division financial goals and risk appetite. The VP, IPS plays a crucial role in ensuring the division's liquidity, interest rate risk management, and capital adequacy.

How you'll help move us forward:

  • Strategy Development: Develop and help implement asset liability management strategies in alignment with the division's overall financial objectives, risk tolerance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and monitor risks related to interest rates, liquidity, funding, and capital adequacy. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and to ensure the division's financial stability.
  • Balance Sheet Optimization: Analyze the division's asset and liability portfolios to optimize the mix, duration, and income characteristics. Identify opportunities to enhance profitability, manage interest rate risk, and ensure adequate liquidity.
  • Interest Rate Risk Management: Implement interest rate risk models, and scenario testing to assess the impact of changing interest rate environments on the division's balance sheet. Recommend appropriate hedging strategies and interest rate risk mitigation techniques as appropriate.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date on relevant regulatory guidelines and requirements related to asset liability management. Monitor compliance with applicable regulations and reporting standards, providing necessary documentation and reports to regulatory bodies as required.



The experience you bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Advanced certifications such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or FRM (Financial Risk Manager) are desirable.
  • Extensive experience in investments, asset liability management, within the insurance industry.
  • Strong knowledge of fixed-income sectors, financial instruments, and risk management tools.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, interest rate dynamics, liquidity management, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficient in modeling, statistical analysis, and risk assessment techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic recommendations.
  • Strong leadership and people management abilities with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$285,210.00 - $348,590.00
