POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Located in Landover, MD
  • Full-Time

As a Purchasing Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in procurement operations, managing goods and services with moderate financial commitments and technical complexities. Under general direction, you will ensure optimal inventory levels, maintain accurate data, and foster strong supplier relations. Your responsibilities include executing timely, independent decisions, optimizing profit, negotiating prices, and supporting the sales team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze, report and make recommendations in regard to departments Key Performance Indicators.
  • Process and report out on Customer Stocking Agreements and follow up in regard to underperforming agreements with sales executives for disposition.
  • Manage Item and Vendor setup on a site purchasing level.
  • Calculating and determining demand planning parameters to drive appropriate buying to meet our business needs.
  • Work as part of the Data & Reporting team to recommend changes related to new items, new vendor, cost setups and maintenance to improve process efficiencies.
  • Provide tracking and conversion reporting on item transitions related to new items and vendors to sales. Follow up to drive full compliance to conversions when deficiencies are apparent.
  • Manage all cost related functions within JDE ERP system.
  • Report and analyze forecast vs actuals to identify high and low usage items to make stocking adjustment decisions and disposition when and where necessary.
  • Report and analyze on long stock inventory positions. Work directly with key stakeholders to develop game plans to sell or disposition inventory in the most cost-effective way for the company.
  • Analyze movement on non-stock purchases. Make decisions in regard to when to convert non-stock purchases into regular stock items and setting demand planning parameters accordingly to drive purchases.
  • Analyze demand planning parameter stock levels and their performance as it relates to order fill rates and out of stocks. Determine and implement adjustments accordingly to correct deficiencies in fill rates and out of stocks.
  • Analyze all "job" inventory to ensure we bring into stock JIT and not too early. Collaborate with project management team and buyers to make decisions in regards to pushing out purchase orders that no longer fall within the companies policy of receipt compared to install date of job purchase orders.
  • Analyze new items brought into stock for justification and continuous stocking. Change demand planning parameters for items no longer qualifying for stock and work with sales team to sell off or disposition stock.
  • Monitor and determine suppliers lead times and adjust lead times accordingly based on data and recommendations from buyers.
  • Ensure full collaboration with all departments when making decisions that affect demand planning parameters that drive appropriate buying behavior.
  • Daily, weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Special projects as assigned.
  • Provide ad hoc analyses and reporting.
  • Backup Buyer duties to help manage department workloads.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • ERP experience.
  • Advanced analytical skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational abilities and a strong sense of urgency.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management or related field, or equivalent Military or practical experience
  • 0 - 5 years purchasing / supply chain experience.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance

The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate's unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark's' benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
