Environmental Technical Leader
Halff is seeking an Environmental Technical Leader in our Jacksonville, Florida office. The senior-level position will be responsible for providing technical leadership, project management, developing and maintaining client relationships, and leading business pursuits to contribute to the sustainable growth of the practice in northeast Florida. This is a collaborative position that involves working with the Jacksonville Operations Manager, Environmental Practice Leader and Team Leaders, and other practices throughout the firm by: identifying and leading strategic pursuits; assisting in the development of market opportunities and expanding Halff's Environmental services; increasing internal and external exposure to the practice; assuring implementation of QA/QC procedures; promoting innovation and technology; training and developing less experienced staff; recruiting and hiring of personnel as needed; and encouraging teamwork, work sharing, and project collaboration. The primary focus will be to facilitate the overall growth of the Environmental Practice in the greater Jacksonville area.
The ideal candidate will bring senior leadership and Natural Resources expertise to Halff's Environmental Practice, and should have experience in leading environmental professionals, marketing and business development, coordinating with clients, and delivering major projects. Candidates should have both public and private sector experience and be able to deliver environmental regulatory compliance solutions to clients. Requirements:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in biology, natural resources management, environmental science, or related field; Master's Degree preferred
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in data collection and preparation of Natural Resources documentation as it pertains to local, state, and/or federal regulations
  • Strong relationships with potential clients and teaming partners
  • Proven success pursuing major projects/contracts
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience communicating with environmental regulatory agencies and the public
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Positive attitude, initiative, and ability to work with multi-discipline teams with a focus on integrity and quality of work
  • Experience assisting teams with QA/QC and performing QC reviews
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed
