About the Role: We are seeking a Global Communications Leader to develop and execute the Gore Medical communications strategy, with a focus on enabling the Gore Medical strategy, equipping leaders, engaging Associates with clear, compelling communications and nurturing a high-performing team of communicators. In this role, you will lead the Gore Medical Communications team, a global team, that consists of nine communicators that are responsible for leading internal Associate engagement communication initiatives and external reputational communications. This role has a high focus on Associate development, partnering with leaders across Gore Medical and the Enterprise while creating a rewarding environment that invites diversity of thought and experience. This position will be located at our facility in Phoenix or Flagstaff, Arizona, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Proactively drive the development of the global Gore Medical communications strategy and plan to reach Associates and key external stakeholders through varied media and channels, in collaboration with leaders and members of the Gore Medical communications team
  • Serve as a skilled, knowledgeable communications consultant to Gore Medical global leaders on messaging, development, timing and delivery of communications
  • Develop communication initiatives, resources, materials/content to enable Associates to understand, act on and confidently share appropriate information about Gore Medical strategy. Includes measuring the effectiveness of communications
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with agencies, consultants and other partners, as needed for design, print, translation, media, legal content review, etc
  • Ensure delivery of engaging content that distills complex concepts into clear, easily understood messages and stories
  • Build communications team capability and impact: translate strategy into priorities/goals, drive performance and development through coaching and feedback, measure outcomes and hold others accountable for results
  • Establishes clear expectations of equitable and inclusive behaviors from Associates and acts immediately to appropriately address negatively impactful or unfair behavior

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years professional experience working with business strategy and corporate communications in a global, technical, or manufacturing-oriented organization including working effectively with broad leaders
  • Mature judgement and experience working on complex, sensitive topics, including the ability to build credibility and build alignment across diverse views
  • Strong capability in key message development, writing, editing and influencing skills
  • Familiarity with current best practices to engage stakeholders with a variety of media and channels, including traditional, digital and social media
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining an inclusive work environment with clear understanding of equitable practices
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing talent while aligning individual and team interests
  • Ability to communicate directly and effectively with Associates to resolve challenges regardless of their role or difference of opinion
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% (potentially more to address critical needs in other regions when necessary)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in a regulated industry such as medical devices, healthcare, or pharmaceuticals
  • Communication experience in key regions (EMEA, APAC, Japan)
  • Experience in establishing Global Agency relationships

Hybrid Working Arrangements are permitted for Associates in the continental United States (US) and Canada, with appropriate approval and compliance with Gore's hybrid working policies, from the country in which they are employed.
