JOB OVERVIEW:

Under general supervision engages in the execution of Pest Control tasks to ensure that Blue Diamond facilities meet regulatory and corporate standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Performs daily pest control audits of the facility. Document findings and report findings to department manager.

  • Document weekly pheromone, rodent, and bird activity on excel spreadsheet.

  • Coordinate all insecticide application with department lead and manager (fogging, crack & crevice)

  • Communicate fogging application Notice of Intent to all Sacramento Recipients by e-mail.

  • Maintain food safety pest charts and maps.

  • Responsible to document chemical usage.

  • Required to maintain and re-order chemical inventory, PPE, traps, and all other required pest control tools to perform job properly when needed.

  • Replace pheromones in traps per label requirements or sooner.

  • Make continuous improvement recommendations.

  • Other duties as required.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum level of education required.

  • High School Diploma or GED

Minimum number of year(s) of experience required in addition to education plus type(s) of functional experience.

  • Possess a QAC, QAL or any other pest control license excepted by the state of California Department of Pesticide Regulations

Other required type(s) of functional experience (e.g., Production/Operations, Accounting, Forklift Operator, Inventory Control, etc.)

  • Able to work in adverse conditions, Computer skills with strength in excel spreadsheets. Pest identification

  • Position will require you to perform duties alone or as a group. Communicate daily with hourly and salaried employee's pest control activities.

  • May be asked to assist and help solve technical problems in the pest control field.

  • Must be able to work with a variety of hand tools, monitoring devices and small equipment (portable fogger).

  • Work may consist of repetitive tasks and involve few choices.

  • Must understand Blue Diamond line certification, HACCP processes and auditing, Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMPs) and safety practices. Work is checked regularly. Effect of errors is minimal.

  • Position may require employee to work around energized equipment and is routinely exposed to hazardous materials. Position may require the exposure to various adverse conditions such as, heat, cold, noise, dust, fumes, dirt, and grease, and chemical substance.

On shift employee is constantly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position involves sitting, walking, and lifting less than 10 pounds for long periods of time throughout the day.
