As a Senior Project Planner at Worley, you will play a pivotal role in the preparation and maintenance of complex engineering and construction schedules for major project proposals and ongoing projects. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the timely and efficient execution of project plans, working closely with project management to enhance performance in project planning and execution. By assigning and reviewing the work of subordinate scheduling staff, you will contribute to the seamless coordination of project timelines, ultimately supporting Worley's mission of delivering sustainable change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive engineering and construction schedules for major project proposals and projects in progress.
  • Ensure the accuracy, compatibility, and competency of supporting schedules to facilitate seamless project execution.
  • Collaborate closely with project management to identify opportunities for improving performance in project planning and execution.
  • Initiate or prepare reports to management regarding project scheduling, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
  • Assign and review the work of subordinate scheduling staff, providing guidance and support to ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Participate in cross-functional collaboration, leveraging your expertise to contribute to the success of multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Demonstrate leadership by effectively leading functional project teams and providing mentorship to junior staff members.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and management, delivering proposals, presentations, and reports on complex scheduling matters.
  • Utilize strong understanding of systems, processes, and tools related to the field to troubleshoot issues and support project success.

  • University Degree, or equivalent, in a related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Extensive years of relevant experience in project scheduling within the energy, chemicals, or resources industry.
  • Advanced knowledge and specialized depth or breadth of expertise in project scheduling, demonstrating mastery of a single area or multiple broader areas of specialization.
  • Proven ability to lead project teams and supervise the work of self and others, with experience in cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to inform and persuade on complex matters through proposals, presentations, and collaboration with stakeholders and management.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the capacity to lead functional project teams and provide job-related guidance to department staff as a senior advisor.
  • Solid understanding of systems, processes, and tools related to project scheduling, with the capability to troubleshoot issues and assist others effectively.
