Position Summary:

Under the guidance and direction of the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing people, processes and systems that ensure the highest safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency. Ensures that all products and services meet or exceed government, industry, and customer specifications. Ensures that the company's strategy for quality products and customer satisfaction be responsive, effective, and reach all areas of the organization with special emphasis on the constant concern for product liability.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leads, coaches, mentors, and monitors the strategy and tactical work of the Quality team.
  • Hands-on leader with responsibility for resolving technical challenges, ensuring successful tactical execution, as well as creating and implementing the strategic vision of the Quality department.
  • Works closely with the program teams and the functional organization to ensure that all phases of the customer life cycle, from early customer involvement through post-delivery support, meet the requirements for mission success.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of quality records that document the quality status of material/products and provide necessary information and cumulative data for internal and external customer responses.
  • Collect and analyze key quality measures such as Cost of Poor Quality to develop zero defect plans, improve yields and reduce rework during engineering and manufacturing efforts.
  • Communicates to appropriate personnel and management significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
  • Multi-task in fast paced environment, manage multiple tasks and changing priorities using strong organization and prioritization skills.
  • Interviewing new employee candidates and making recommendations for hire.
  • Appraising performance of direct reports, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Read and interpret quality and specification data with an understanding of company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret documents such as drawings, blueprints, and production schedules.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting / problem solving skills with an emphasis on attention to detail balanced with a big picture focus ad ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Investigates and follows up on root cause and corrective action required on CAR activity wherein Q.A. failed to detect associate non-conformances and or customer complaints.
  • Backs up any or all responsible Inspection Personnel in performing the inspection function.
  • Strong ethics, reasoning, and excellent communication skills (oral and written). Clearly articulate results and needs across all levels (individuals or groups of customers or employees).
  • Team player with a proactive, positive attitude and a strong sense of self-motivation, accountability, and responsibility.

Required Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree of Science preferably in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in manufacturing quality leadership role. Leading and managing the execution of processes, projects, and employees within a team.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.
  • Experience with quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or AS9100.
  • ISO 9001, AS9100 and NADCAP process audit experience, preferred.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, preferred.
  • Work with mathematical concepts such as basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Minitab.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $85,000 to $127,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
