Overview

Gatekeeper, part of the OSI Systems Company security division, leverages state-of-the-art technologies: advanced optics, high-resolution cameras, digital imaging processing & machine vision analytic software, and ruggedized hardware assemblies.

Gatekeeper is looking for a talented engineer having experience with embedded Internet of Things (IoT) hardware, firmware, and software systems. Must have hands-on experience testing, troubleshooting, and deploying mechanical, electrical, and software solution.

This position will work closely with a talented team of engineers and software developers to service, support, and deploy imaging solutions. The position will also include assisting with the development of our next generation of world-leading intelligent optical inspection and recognition systems (including AI/ML). Candidates must be available to work on-site at our Newtown, Pennsylvania R&D Center of Innovation.


Responsibilities

  • Remote and field support of system commissioning team to assist with system configuration, hardware implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Implementation and understanding of embedded hardware-software systems for computer vision systems.
  • Provide technical support for IoT devices, including both hardware and software.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the Research and Development team to design and implement rapid prototypes.
  • Test prototypes for market viability and traction with trusted lead customers.
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial approaches to quickly transition successful prototypes into production-ready design packages, capable of supporting scalable production ramps.
    Prepare designs that are environmentally robust and demonstrate industry-leading performance for Gatekeeper's optical inspection and recognition systems.
  • Develop end-to-end system tests to ensure quality, functionality, and performance of our hardware systems once transferred to volume manufacturing.
  • Develop and maintain engineering design (electrical-mechanical) drawing packages, configuration management, and revision repository control methods using tools such as AGILE.
  • Implement software test systems based on custom testbeds and Web APIs.
  • Project management support tasks.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the Company's Code of Ethics and Conduct.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience with system integration of hardware and software systems
  • Computer vision experience a plus, but not required.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Labview programming experience a plus.
  • Excellent documentation skills, organizational skills, and verbal communication (including presentation) skills.
  • Creative individual, collaborative team player, self-starter
  • Must have an entrepreneurial drive and work mentality.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to customer locations in the US if necessary.
