Responsibilities

Job Summary
The Clinical Application Engineer II is responsible for managing and supporting all the technology applications, systems and platforms in use for the continuation of the business operations, with specific focus on the Health Information Exchange (HIE) platform. The Clinical Application Engineer II participates in and provides guidance on various aspects of application software/feature deployments in various software development life cycle based environments, software upgrades, enhancements, patching activities and support plans and serves as a secondary point of contact for application maintenance and escalations.
  • Works on, manages and develops application and software changes and feature enhancements to support technology, project and company/departmental operational needs. Gains a thorough understanding of functional requirements for new software requests and enhancement request. Works with the Project Managements Office and Business Analyst to document and capture functional requirements.
  • Provide level 2 support for projects and implemented applications. Technical expert in HIE architecture/platform, production trouble shooting techniques in front end, service layer and backend databases and provides quick efficient and quality resolutions. Identify, isolate, and troubleshoot issues and drive development of solutions..
  • Assume the role of Subject Matter Expert within the capacity of a Product Owner and serve as the central point of contact for products/services including all product strategy, & roadmap, product/application life-cycle management, product support, vendor engagement, and documentation. Additionally, serve as the ICP champion for the product to maximize achieved benefits and end-user adoption.
  • Monitor performance of the application and take action on changes.
    Respond to application outages and perform routine maintenance on assigned applications.
    Perform routine changes as assigned according to change management procedures.
  • Participates in efforts to identify and resolve day to day operational issues, incident requests, tasks and time/project driven operational requirements. Pro-actively recommends preventive measures, and coordinates between support, system administration and application teams.
    Be available for on call and after-hours support as escalation point
  • Author and contribute to current knowledgebase and other troubleshooting technical documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
