QUALITY SUPERVISOR
DETROIT, MI- CONNER ST PLANT

As a member of the Quality team, Quality Supervisor will be responsible to execute product and process controls per the control plan in conjunction with the plant's production team. Lead 8D problem resolution process for internal and external raised concern which includes close interaction with Customer Quality Engineer on the problem resolution updates.

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Ensure customer satisfaction through quick follow up to problems/concerns with accurate feedback.
  • Develop and publish Quality Alerts as required based on reported quality defects from customer or internal to plant.
  • Manage the disposition, input, and reporting of scrap material.
  • Review scrap data to evaluate necessary corrective action.
  • Review IPPM & DPPM data/charts and initiate corrective actions with breakpoints.
  • Participate in IPPM blitz by driving issues back into the process.
  • Perform quality audits as scheduled including LPA, poka-yoke, and product audits and report findings
  • Maintain poka-yoke documentation, assist in ensuring corrective actions are completed, and maintain schedules.
  • Review Process Audit results and fill in when necessary (exceptions).
  • Communicate all customer issues (liaison calls, QR's, etc.) to shop floor and quality inspectors/techs, evaluate/update process audits to reflect concerns (internal and external).
  • Communicate build concerns to work areas and update the process audits to reflect these concerns.
  • Assure quality technicians have the appropriate tools to perform their job.
  • Manage quality technicians to ensure that job duties are fulfilled, ensuring compliance to inspection and test procedures.
  • Assure gages and test fixtures are in proper working order before use.
  • Ensure 5S is followed and maintained for the Quality Hold Area.
  • Coordinate in-process sorting and containment activities.
  • Follow IATF 16949 procedures and instructions accordingly.
  • Support Supplier Quality Engineer as needed.
  • Support Quality Lab Tech as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications:

  • Four-year college degree in engineering or a related field
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings to ensure the understanding of the agreed quality parameters and product specific requirements
  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Experience in relevant manufacturing processes and technologies
  • Understanding of practical problem-solving tools using 8D methodology:
  • Working knowledge quality tools, and process/production control methods such as: APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, GD&T, MSA, PPAP & SPC
