Job Description:

Purpose: To support the Custodial Manager by leading the overall Custodial operations for the site.

Location: Denver, CO

Compensation:Compensation for candidates based in Colorado is $52,178-$70,440.

The Custodial Assistant Manager is responsible to supervise the essential functions and responsibilities of the Custodial team as determined by the Custodial Manager. They support and lead the operations of the Custodial Team by drafting effective schedules, including special events and peak weekend, and set tasks for Convergence Station Custodial staff. They coordinate daily tasks amongst team members, implement training programs, support the development of written SOP's, ensure safety is deeply ingrained in the work culture and other duties as assigned. The Custodial Assistant Manager reports directly to the Facilities Manager.

The Custodial Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in team organization and communication. Supporting the Custodial Manager, they are a go-to resource for all Custodial team concerns, daily needs, and scheduling concerns.As a key member of the Custodial management team, your leadership will make a profound difference to our world class guest and employee experience.

How you will do it...

* You are responsible to help revise the schedule on a weekly basis and ensure the custodial team is aware of their schedule, the task priorities, and specific needs of the site.

* Ensure that supplies are sufficiently on hand and equipment is fully functional for custodial staff to perform their duties.

* Assist with addressing call-outs/modifications to daily schedule as needed

* You will ensure that all towels and fabrics required to perform duties are cleaned and available to the custodial staff in a timely manner.

* Help train staff to provide a memorable and uniquely Meow Wolf level of service to guests

* Collaborate cross-departmentally to create and maintain a pleasant environment for guests and staff

* Maintain an orderly workspace throughout all areas of business

* Review the overall cleanliness and readiness of the site to accept the public into the exhibition. Ensure that the exhibition is cleaned to the highest standards possible to support a high quality guest and staff experience.

* Review and validate payroll for all custodial staff.

* Assist in writing year end performance evaluations of custodial staff and review those evaluations with the Custodial Manager prior to delivery of them to custodial staff.

* Make rounds to review designated work areas, assigning needed coverage, and giving special cleaning instructions and/or assignments.

* Inspect flooring, walls and doors within the overall exhibition and report back to the applicable managers on needed touch ups or repairs required.

* If required, step in when cleaning staff call out to ensure that the site is adequately cleaned.

* Support trash and recycle demands of the exhibition in line with our company's environmental concerns.

* Ensure staff are adequately aware of any job hazards in the use of chemicals by reviewing the SDS documentation and training staff on safe work practices and the use of PPE.

To be successful in this role...

* Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Custodial/ EVS/ Janitorial leadership.

* Experience training new staff members.

* Experience creating effective custodial staff schedules.

* Effective communication of responsibilities and expectations

* Direct experience supervising employees and the ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams to meet individual goals and Company objectives

* Experience using and maintaining common tools, equipment, and materials used in cleaning activities.

* Thorough knowledge of methods used in the cleaning of buildings, occupational hazards, and safety rules and regulations

* Ability to demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and an ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment

* You should possess a positive attitude seeking solutions to challenges by including team feedback and suggestions in your approach

* Adult + Child + Infant CPR, AED, and First Aid certification

* Ability to read and write English.

* Ability to successfully navigate several software programs within Google Suite

* Prior work experience in a retail, museum, park, recreation facility, or other public space

* Experience and ability to operate general hand tools and cleaning equipment

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

* This position operates on site and may travel to the warehouse at times.

* This is a full-time position. Schedules are based on business needs. This position requires a flexible schedule to accommodate the times the exhibit is closed to the public. Occasional evening, overnight, weekends, and holidays will be expected as job duties demand.

* Employment type: full time, 40 hours per week

* No travel is required for this position

* This job operates in an office environment as well as an immersive art exhibit in low and high levels of lighting and sound.

* This role routinely uses cleaning equipment such as mops, vacuums, and other cleaning tools and must be aware of the manner in which the art can be cleaned.

* Employees may be required to lift up to 60lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

* All employees will comply with company and OSHA standard workplace safety protocols.

* Supervisory Responsibilities include day time staff, leads that direct weekend and evening staff and the potential to cover leads as necessary.
